Change of Ideas For Album Artwork

Everything was going really well with our music video until it came to the time to actually arrange the shoot. We contacted the band about meeting up but the reply we got was that they were busy all the way up to March so obviously this left us in a bit of a pickle as we now had to scrap all previous ideas that we had for our artwork as they included the band. This was really gutting at the time and with not long left to go until the deadline really worried me and Georgia as it meant we had to come up with a completly new idea.

As we now knew we couldn't use the band at all we had to try and think of a more conceptual idea for our artwork as this was the only way we could get it to work. We wanted to still do something with this idea of being reckless and carefree and we knew we wanted to have the band name on the front. WIth this in mind we came up with the idea of having, instead of the four band members with the letters, four alcohol bottles each with a letter on them made of duct tape as this is what they used to create the 'Y' on their backdrop and drum set. On reflection I think it worked in our favour that they weren't able to do the shoot as, although it felt like we had no other options at the time, the bottles were a really good idea and helped to keep conventions and make the artwork a bit different. We also thought it would be a nice touch to have a short couple of sentences so the band could give a message to anyone that had brought the album which we decided to put under the CD.
