Narrative Style for ycfrk Video

When deciding on what our narrative style was going to be like for our music video we decided the best thing to do would be to would be to look at other indie music videos and their conventions and go from there! As we know from before most music videos contain both elements of performance and narrative so as a group we decided that this would be a good thing to use in our own production as we were then able to use footage of them perfoming at a gig in parrallel to shots of the main singer, Harry, doing something that relates to the lyrics. Also in this lesson we decided that we were most probably going to put some sort of effect on the video, be it black and white or a more vintage / 'instagram' sort of look (which you can see in the picture of Mumford and Sons opposite) when we came to the editing process as this was, we found, what most indie bands choose to do. Once we had this sorted we had to start to find a good location for the band to perform in as this was the part of the video we would be focusing on first and this leed us nicely onto my next post!
